Should a good leader show vulnerability?Yes, I think it's essential.
I think a manager should be themselves. At Éclat RH, we like to say that we are passionate about people, that management is based on three important aspects:courageous management, attentive management, and heart-felt management.
And I think that's exactly what management with heart is all about.
It means accepting your emotions, accepting who you are, knowing how to express it, to know oneself well.
There is nothing worse than a manager who does not know themselves, who moves forward living in pretense.
So in any case, I think it's essential to know who we are, and to accept it.
Attentive management is precisely that, in addition to everything else.
It means paying attention to your employees in order to create an environment of good psychological safety allowing everyone to express themselves, everyone to express who they are, which is essential.
And then there's management through courage, because you can be who you are and you can express emotion, but at some point, but at the end of the day, you're also there to make an organization work and to deliver performance for that organization.
And then we have to make decisions in an uncertain world which, obviously, is not easy.
And so managers must also demonstrate courage in their decision-making skills amid uncertainty,in a world that is highly ambiguous and unstable.
So, for me, a good manager is someone who knows how to show their vulnerability, knowing how to pay attention to employees and to the organization because we mustn't lose sight of the collective interest and shouldn't be focused solely on individual interests.
A manager who knows how to be courageous.
